Tips for bus riders
Getting close to your destination and need the driver to stop? Simply pull the yellow cord, and the driver will pull over at the next bus stop.
When at a stop, stand with fare ready, indicating you need the driver to stop. If you’re sitting or inattentive, the driver may pass you by.
Hop on your bike to get to your bus stop, then store it on the rack on the front of the bus. Trying it once is all it takes, then you’ll be a pro.
Internet on the bus? Yep. Free Wi-Fi on all Valley Regional Transit buses.
Coffee test. Turn your coffee tumbler upside down. No spills? You can bring it on the bus. Otherwise, leave it at home.
Don’t know where to get off? Ask a fellow rider or driver, or listen for the announcements over the bus speakers.
Need to transfer to another bus? When you get on, just tell the driver you need to connect to “X” route, then take a seat.
Be it a pass, cash, or mobile app, have your fare ready. Drivers are committed to staying on time.
Be considerate always. Make sure to keep bags on your lap or on the ground so seats are open for other riders.
Your phone is a great way to stay busy on the bus, however, keep your conversations to a minimum out of respect for other riders.
